It is undisputed fact that when a lot of people make outside trips, whether for business or just a vacation they need forex and this can be a challenge for a country like Malawi where shortage of forex is the order of the day.
Still more, many companies and organizations in Malawi have been spending a lot of money in foreign currencies by sending their staff outside for training although accessing the forex itself from the commercial banks has been a challenge.
It is from this background that Africa Institute for Capacity Development (AICD) was introduced in order ease these challenges.
We realized that Malawi can save foreign currency once training of its cadres can be done locally. It is time for a country like Malawi to invest on its existing Civil Service, NGOs, Development Partners and that private sector too should not be left out.
After all, it’s a win-win situation to invest in members of staff of staff. What happens is that you train members of staff, they become more productive stay at the institution for longer because a motivated employee will always feel good.
Of course, it is unfortunate that Government, NGOs, Private Sector and Development Partners would still send cadres to China, Kenya, South Africa, USA, and even India for a course which can be offered locally.
However, we want to assure Malawi Government that AICD has capacity to offer employees some courses which could be described by some as complicated, we have done this in our neighbouring countries, we can do the same.
AICD brings on the table over 10 years of experience offering short
courses and tailor-made training, leadership development programs, consultancy and research services for over 10 years.
Our desire is to see Africa to prosper through development cautious managerial prowess, high calibre personnel and progressive policies hence offering high value trainings using seminar model and delivered by top Chief Executive Officers, industrial practitioners and Professors with top of the range training facilities in Malawi, South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania,Nigeria and United Arab Emirates.
Recently, we trained members of United Purpose (UP) formerly known as Concern Universal (CU) and assisted in development of seven strategic plans of sugarcane growers in Dwangwa and Nkhotakota. UP could have lost a lot of money in form of forex and exorbitant fees charged by foreign consultants had it been that management of UP would have sent its staff abroad.
